Jot Plates are photoetched metal finishing panels for Transformers Figures.
Designed to add a pop of detail and interest to a figure in areas with little detail.
The first test run of items released in June 2016 was a test in many ways. The first run was just 25 sets of each design. This test run was not only to find out what the overall response for them would be, but also what to produce in the future. Because Jot Plates are a new concept I had to try some new things, some of which I knew may not work as planned. The goal with the first run was to see what types of plates and designs were desired, and which ones were not. I purposely pushed the limits and explored the very edges of what was possible. In the process, I found that though I carefully tested the fit of each plate design using CNC cut vinyl on the figures, that alone did not mean the final Jot Plate will be perfect. There were some plates that the gentle curves that Vinyl easily conformed to, made some rigid panels not fit as well as designed. This information will be extremely helpful in future designs as i can compensate for these issues in the future.
In hopes of showing complete transparency, a full panel fit report will be added to each item, so you can see how the panels fit beforehand. Please see the fit report for each figure for more information.
For those customers who still desire the very first Jot Plate prototypes, they will still be offered for sale in June as scheduled. Jot Plate sets with panels that have fit issues will be sold at a reduced price.
